Zaka Ashraf appointed chairman of new PCB management committee.The government has given its approval for the establishment of a committee, with the decision communicated through a summary. Comprising ten members, the committee has been formed for a duration of four months. Furthermore, a new chief election commissioner, Mahmood Iqbal, has been appointed to replace Ahmed Shehzad Farooq Rana. The committee’s inaugural meeting is scheduled to take place today, Thursday, in Lahore. Here are the names of the ten committee members: Zaka Ashraf (chairman), Kaleem Ullah Khan, Ashfaq Akhtar, Musaddiq Islam, Azmat Parvez, Zaheer Abbas, Khurram Karim Somroo, Khuwaja Nadeem, Mustafa Ramday, and Zulfiqar Malik.
On Monday, the Lahore High Court (LHC) lifted the stay order that had been placed on the election for the chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). The elections, which were initially slated for June 27 at the PCB headquarters in Lahore, were postponed due to stay orders from multiple courts across the country, including the Balochistan High Court. Notably, on June 27, the LHC had stayed the election of the PCB chairman after suspending the notification issued by the Board of Governors (BoG). The court has issued notices to the federal government, the cricket board’s election commissioner, and other relevant parties.

In the petition submitted by Malik Zulfiqar, it was argued that Chief Election Commissioner Shahzad Farooq Rana had made unauthorized alterations to the list of the BoGs, which had been finalized by the interim management committee on June 20. The petition maintained that the actions of the chief election commissioner were illegal.
