Lahore – There is a forecast of rain accompanied by thunderstorms in the capital of Punjab, Lahore, as well as other regions of the country within the next 24-48 hours, as a fresh episode of monsoon precipitation is set to commence today.
According to an alert from the Met Office, Lahore is expected to experience substantial precipitation during this time. Additionally, Rawalpindi, Murree, Gujranwala, Attock, Sialkot, Narowal, and other areas are also anticipated to be affected by rainfall.
In the meantime, Sherry Rehman, the Federal Minister for Climate Change, announced the onset of a fresh monsoon season today (Friday).
She stated that there is a chance of thunderstorms and substantial rainfall in various areas such as Islamabad, Punjab, Sindh, Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Kashmir.

The ongoing monsoon period is predicted to persist until July 17. In the interim, she stated that all pertinent divisions have received directives to stay vigilant.
Between July 13 and 17, there exists a possibility of urban inundation in low-lying regions of Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Peshawar, Gujranwala, and Lahore as a result of substantial precipitation.

Furthermore, a notification has been issued regarding potential landslides in mountainous regions like Murree, Galiyat, Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
