In Uttarakhand, an Indian province, 40 laborers were trapped beneath the debris as a tunnel being built collapsed.

As per Indian media, this event transpired on Sunday as a result of landslides, while the laborers were engaged in tunnel construction.
Reports indicate numerous religious sites in Uttarakhand, attracting a flow of pilgrims. This prompted the government to initiate a road construction project through the tunnel for the convenience of these pilgrims.
As per the authorities, local administration and rescue teams promptly arrived at the scene following the mishap.
The authorities stated that the emergency responders have established a pathway to access the workers in their attempt to supply them with oxygen and sustenance. However, because they are trapped beneath the rubble, an immediate extraction is not feasible.

As per the authorities, they have penetrated 15 meters into the tunnel to free the workers, and the process of clearing the debris might extend over several hours. Additionally, it is anticipated that evacuating the workers could require an additional two days.
