On Thursday, Alamgir Khan Tareen, sibling of Jahangir Khan Tareen, the Patron-in-Chief of Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party (IPP) and proprietor of the Multan Sultans, a team in the Pakistan Super League (PSL), unfortunately lost his life.

Suicide of Alamgir Tareen
Per information from law enforcement authorities, Jahangir Tareen’s sibling purportedly inflicted a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head using a handgun at their dwelling situated in Lahore’s Gulberg locality.
The specifics concerning the events leading up to the sorrowful incident remain uncertain presently.
Authorities have stated that the 62-year-old resided in solitude. They mentioned that the area where the crime occurred has been secured, and the handgun he utilized has been retrieved.
Several notable individuals paid a visit to the Tareen House and extended their sympathies to the senior statesman following the passing of his sibling.
Firdous Ashiq Awan, the spokesperson for IPP, also made a visit to the Tareen House to offer condolences for the demise of Jahangir Khan Tareen’s brother.After conducting an autopsy, the hospital staff handed over the deceased body to the family.
Funeral prayers offered
The funeral prayers took place in the presence of the deceased’s family members and close friends. Jahangir Tareen, Aun Chaudhry, Humayun Akhtar Khan, and additional individuals joined the funeral prayers.
The funeral prayer was conducted at the central mosque located in Model Town A-Block.

Post-mortem report
As per the post-mortem report of deceased Alamghir Khan, the fatal headshot bullet entered from the right side and exited from the left side of the head.
There were no indications of bruises or torture on the body.
The cause of death was excessive blood loss.
According to the report, there was no evidence of drug overdose.
Police sources mentioned that the lifeless body of Alamghir was initially discovered by servant Alamdar—who also contacted the Police.
The process of gathering fingerprints and other evidence is currently underway, they added. The motive behind the suicide could not be determined during the preliminary investigation.
Police also stated they are searching for a possible suicide note. They added that the actual reasons and facts will be revealed after the completion of the investigation.
Subsequently, the deceased’s body was transferred to Lahore’s General Hospital for the postmortem, as per sources.
His brother, Jahangir Tareen, has arrived at his residence in Model Town.
The sources added that Alamgir Tareen will be laid to rest in Model Town, where his funeral prayers will also take place at 10:30 pm today.
The police have reported that the alleged suicide note of Jahangir Tareen’s brother Alamgir has been sent for a forensic examination. The purported note mentions an illness and medication as reasons for the presumed suicide.
Political and social figures from all over the country, including leaders of the IPP, have expressed their condolences to Jahangir Tareen.
Alamgir Tareen was the proprietor and managing director of the Multan Sultans PSL franchise.
Lahore Qalandars condole death
Separately, the Lahore Qalandars team has expressed grief and sorrow over the Suicide of Alamgir Tareen.
They said they were saddened to hear the news of the death, adding the gap left behind will never be filled.
“We stand with Alamgir Tareen’s family and Multan Sultans in this difficult time,” the team said in a statement.
