Sri Lanka tallied 344 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in the designated 50 overs, Kaushal Mendes accumulated 122 runs and Samara Wickrama garnered 108 runs.
This stands as the highest total achieved by any team against Pakistan in a World Cup match; the prior highest score against Pakistan in a World Cup was 336 runs achieved by India in 2019.

This game is taking place at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad where Lincoln skipper Dasan Shanaka asked captain Babar Azam to bowl.
Today, a modification has been implemented in the national squad; Abdullah Shafiq has been brought into the team instead of the opener Fakhar Zaman.

Sri Lanka, having won the toss and elected to bat first against Pakistan, got off to a shaky start in the innings. Kushal Perera was dismissed by Hasan Ali, managing to score just 5 runs.
Pathum Nissanka and Kaushal Mendis formed a formidable partnership, amassing 102 runs for the second wicket.
However, Nissanka departed after making a valuable 51 runs.
With two wickets down, Kaushal Mendis and Samra Vikrama took charge against the Pakistani bowlers. They played an array of impressive shots all around the field, adopting an aggressive batting approach.
In the midst of it all, Mendis achieved a remarkable feat, securing the fastest World Cup century for Sri Lanka, reaching the milestone in just 65 balls.
Mendes and Samara Wickrama established a 111-run partnership prior to Mendes being dismissed for 122 from 77 deliveries, whereas newcomer Charith Asalanka departed after scoring just one run.
In addition, De Silva accumulated 25 runs. Conversely, Samara Wickrama marked his inaugural century in ODI career, crafting an innings of 108 runs off 89 balls.
This marks their second encounter for both teams in this event. In the grand event’s inaugural match, Pakistan triumphed over Netherlands by 81 runs, while Sri Lanka suffered a defeat at the hands of South Africa by 102 runs.
