The Institution of Wollongong (UOW) has prolonged its utmost esteemed Vice-Chancellor’s Leadership Grant for Pakistan.
Scholarship for Pakistani Students
The initiative is designed to motivate a fresh cohort of enthusiastic, youthful leaders and equip them with the understanding, proficiencies, and perspectives to become prospective leaders. A pair of Pakistani scholars will receive the grant annually.
The grant was inaugurated at a significant event by the High Commissioner for Pakistan to Australia, Zahid Hafeez Chaudhri, alongside the Vice-Chancellor and Head of the UOW, Professor Patricia M Davidson, and previous Skipper of the Australian cricket squad and Worldwide Brand Representative of the UOW, Adam Gilchrist.
Addressing the gathering, the ambassador expressed gratitude to the chancellor for offering the Leadership Scholarship to Pakistan.

Applauding the endeavor, he remarked: “I am confident that these grants will present an immense opportunity for exceptional emerging leaders from Pakistan to pursue their education at one of Australia’s leading universities.”
Underlining the importance of the program, the Ambassador noted: “This venture will not only empower our upcoming leaders in their academic and professional growth but also allow them to immerse in the rich Australian culture and forge enduring positive connections with the country.”
Stressing the sturdy educational collaboration between Pakistan and Australia, the Ambassador pointed out: “Pakistan and Australia share outstanding bilateral ties, characterized by a robust partnership in the education sector. Presently, over 27,000 Pakistani students are registered in various Australian institutions, with around 1,000 of them studying at the UOW.”
Referring to the youth as Pakistan’s most valuable national resource, the ambassador extended gratitude to the UOW for its invaluable role in advancing human resource development.
Taking the floor, Chancellor Davidson expressed: “We take pride in broadening the scope of our Vice-Chancellor’s Leadership Scholarship program to Pakistan. This venture aligns perfectly with our vision of fostering a brighter future through education.”
In his statement, Gilchrist enthused: “I’m thrilled to be part of this expansion. These scholarships will enable gifted students from Pakistan to pursue their aspirations and leave a positive mark on the world.”
The prominent delegation will persist in its collaboration with significant Australian universities to generate additional prospects for Pakistani scholars and enhance educational sector collaboration between Pakistan and Australia.
