Rescue Challenges Continue
Last Sunday in the Indian state of Uttarakhand, an under-construction tunnel collapsed in which 40 workers were buried.
According to Indian media, the workers have been trapped in the tunnel for 150 hours, and the rescue administration is working to get them out and the help of heavy machinery is being taken.
It is being told that the workers are alive in the collapsed tunnel and they are being supplied with oxygen as well as food and water through the lines laid in the tunnel.
According to media reports, a drill machine was being used to evacuate the workers but unfortunately it also broke down last night and the rescue operation has been stopped to order another machine which is to be airlifted to the accident site.
On the other hand, the management is being urged by the medical staff to evacuate the laborers as soon as possible because there is a fear that the condition of the laborers will deteriorate if they stay in the tunnel for a long time.
