Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf has parted ways with former Interior Minister Sheikh Rasheed (head of Awami Muslim League).
Sheikh Rashid’s Departure:
On Friday, the PTI announced party tickets for the National Assembly seats, leaving several constituencies vacant in central Punjab.
PTI is creating drama in these constituencies where Sheikh Rashid, who was once an ally of the party, is vying for a seat. Notably, Shehryar Riaz has become the PTI’s choice against a veteran politician in NA-56, which has attracted immediate attention.
Adding a twist to the political landscape, PTI has backed Sambiah Tahir for NA-57, indicating a diverse line-up for the upcoming polls.

Interestingly, Aleem Khan’s constituency NA-117 is without a nominated candidate in Lahore. Sheikh Rashid’s nephew Sheikh Rashid Shafiq did not get a PTI ticket.
Suspense remains in various constituencies of Kasur, including NA 132, where Muslim League (N) President Shehbaz Sharif is going to contest the election.
Shafqat Mehmood (PTI leader) decided to withdraw the nomination papers. In a post on X, Shafqat Mehmood announced that he had decided to withdraw from the election.
