The number of people killed due to heavy rains and floods in Brazil has reached 171.
Brazil leaves hundreds dead:
A total of 171 people have died in the southern state of Rio Grande do Sul due to the worst weather disaster on record, the state’s civil defense agency said, according to news agency Idre Xinhua.
According to the agency, floods caused by record rainfall since April 29 have affected 2.39 million people, with 43 missing and 617,900 displaced.

Officials said that cases of leptospirosis among people are also increasing due to climate change.
