Dr. Jamal Nasir, the Minister overseeing Healthcare for Primary and Secondary sectors, declared on this day that substantial measures have been initiated by the government of Punjab.
These efforts, conducted with the counsel of Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi, are aimed at streamlining the process of overseas job opportunities for nursing professionals.
The Primary as well as Secondary Healthcare division put in conscientious effort to eliminate all obstacles that formerly impeded nurses from pursuing jobs overseas.
Punjab Nurses Can Work Abroad Now
Per Dr. Jamal Nasir’s statements, the urgent choice to handle ex-Pakistan leave requests from nurses was a direct reaction to Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi’s orders.
The intention behind this action is to generate chances for skilled nurses to operate overseas, simultaneously contributing to the native healthcare setup upon their homecoming.
Furthermore, the overseas remittances dispatched by these nurses while they are employed will function as a valuable contribution to Pakistan’s national objective, as the nation requires foreign exchange reserves.
For the purpose of guaranteeing a seamless procedure, the Department of Primary and Secondary Healthcare has released extensive instructions uniquely crafted to aid nurses, whether they are in-charge nurses, head nurses, or hold any other equivalent title from BS-16 to BS-19, and have the intention to pursue ex-Pakistan leave for employment abroad.

Applicants must be full-time nurses, as these rules don’t pertain to contract or ad hoc nurses. Moreover, a valid employment offer from an international healthcare center is required for eligibility.
Regarding the process of applying, the minister highlighted how crucial it is to fast-track the process by affixing the acquired visa alongside the leave request. Furthermore, individuals who cannot furnish the sanctioned leave title from the District Accounts Office will have their application advanced promptly, and the leave title can be turned in at a subsequent time.
For process efficiency, submissions of applications are possible directly at the HISDU facilitation center. The department promises to make decisions on these within four business days from submission, removing the necessity of forwarding from the nurse’s institution head.
Dr. Jamal Nasir instructed the relevant deputy secretary to oversee the pending applications on a daily basis. Additionally, when a specific health facility needs a replacement nurse, this must not cause any delays in leave application approvals.
Concerning all individuals applying under the PEEDA ACT of 2006, their situations will be evaluated and dealt with on an individual basis, considering the gravity of the allegations, following the established instructions.
