Because of haze in Punjab, a decision has been made to implement an intelligent lockdown in 5 districts, including Gujranwala.
Punjab implement smart lockdown
The Commissioner of Gujranwala states that there will be an Smart lockdown in Gujranwala, Sialkot, Narowal, Hafizabad, and Wazirabad from November 10 to November 12.
As per the Commissioner, all schools, offices, markets, entertainment venues, marriage halls, and cinemas will remain shut during the Smart Lockdown. Additionally, cases will be filed under Section 144 for burning crop residues and waste.
The Commissioner of Gujranwala urged the citizens to restrict their movement.

It’s worth noting that the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has already issued a haze advisory.
As per NDMA, haze is expected to reach hazardous levels in central and southern Punjab in the upcoming week.
In the NDMA advisory, it was said that smog may reach dangerous levels in Gujranwala, Multan, Lahore, Bahawalpur, Faisalabad, Sargodha, DG Khan, Sahiwal divisions may also be affected by smog.
On the other hand, in view of the smog, a holiday was declared in various districts of Punjab including Lahore on Friday by the caretaker Punjab government.
Caretaker Chief Minister Punjab Mohsin Naqvi had announced a holiday in all the districts of Lahore Division, Gujranwala, Wazirabad and Hafizabad on Friday, November 10, in view of smog.
