Twitter’s GB Location Unchanged by India
In light of recent allegations circulating on social platforms and specific segments of the press, the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has carried out a comprehensive inquiry into Twitter’s purported restriction of the Government of Pakistan’s official account in Gilgit-Baltistan and the alteration of the region’s location to certain areas within India.
The Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) has released a statement affirming that these allegations are baseless.
Following thorough on-site testing and examination, the PTA has determined that the reported occurrences are sporadic and confined to a select few iOS devices, impacting a limited group of users. The regulatory body stressed that these issues are not noteworthy and do not suggest a prevalent problem.
Speculations regarding Twitter’s purported actions gained momentum on various social media platforms and captured the interest of certain news sources, resulting in conjecture and public apprehension. The PTA promptly launched an inquiry to establish the truthfulness of these assertions.
In Pakistan, Twitter remains a favored medium for public conversation and the dissemination of information. It provides users with the opportunity to voice their viewpoints and participate in dialogues about diverse subjects.
