Urban flooding may also be observed in certain regions.
According to a statement from the meteorological department, pre-monsoon showers are expected to commence on June 25 in the northern and central regions of the country. This will bring a welcome relief from the scorching heat.
The meteorological department stated that moist air currents are infiltrating the northern and central regions of the country from the Arabian Sea, while a westerly wave is expected to enter the northern parts of the country on June 25th.

According to the meteorological department, although there might be instances of urban flooding due to heavy rainfall in certain areas, the spell of rains is expected to alleviate the prevailing ‘heat wave’ conditions.

As per the meteorological office, regions in southern Punjab, namely Bahawalnagar, Multan, and Layyah, areas in Balochistan including Baran, Kalat, Loralai, Khuzdar, and Ziarat, and areas in Sindh including Sukkur, Jacobabad, and Larkana, are expected to receive rainfall from June 27 to June 28.

There is a possibility of flash flooding in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Peshawar, Gujranwala, and Lahore, while Murree and Galiyat might experience landslides.
