Pilots in the U.S. have raised the alarm over issues related to flight safety and carelessness, since several mid-air incidents involving the Boeing 737 Max 9 in January and several others involving United Airlines last month.

The Allied Pilots Association said in a message to its members: “While United Airlines is currently under public and government scrutiny, it could just as easily be American Airlines.”
The union also urged its members not to be afraid to report any safety issues and to resist any threats.
“As the last link in the safety chain, our passengers and crew rely on us to be the strongest link in the chain,” the message added.
He drew the attention of his members to the disastrous tendency of leaving tools behind in aircraft wheel wells and collisions involving the towing of aircraft on the ground.
He also highlighted the “pressure on pilots to return aircraft to line service to maintain on-time performance”.
On January 5, a major mid-flight accident occurred in which a door blew off an Alaska Airlines Boeing 737 Max 9.
In March, United Airlines had nearly a dozen engine problems, with the last one occurring on a flight to Japan where flight UA35 was scheduled to depart from San Francisco International Airport.

The Boeing 777-200 was sent to the gate and a passenger told the San Francisco Chronicle that the pilot made an announcement explaining that “the right engine was not working.”
