The Islamabad High Court has halted the imprisonment of PTI leader and former Punjab Chief Minister Pervez Elahi under the 3MPO.
Pervez Elahi’s Detention Suspended
During the Islamabad High Court’s session, the court inquired about any disturbances or processions in Islamabad. In response, Punjab Chief Minister Pervez Elahi attorney stated that his client hadn’t organized any rally, procession, or disturbance. Contempt of court proceedings are currently ongoing against the DC Islamabad for issuing a similar order against Shehryar Afridi.
The court inquired about the date of Parvez Elahi’s initial arrest. The attorney replied that Pervez Elahi was apprehended on June 1.
Justice Tariq Mehmood Jahangiri remarked that Pervaiz Elahi has been held in custody for more than 3 months.
“The judiciary advised Parvez Elahi to refrain from making any statements until the upcoming hearing.”
Subsequently, the tribunal mandated the liberation of PTI leader and former Punjab Chief Executive Pervez Elahi under the 3MPO, halting his confinement.
The tribunal dispatched a summons to the DC Islamabad for Tuesday and instructed Parvez Elahi to attend the upcoming session, emphasizing that Parvez Elahi shall refrain from making any statements until the subsequent hearing.
It should be emphasized that the Lahore High Court, in the preceding week, had issued directives for the liberation of PTI president Pervez Elahi.

The court had unequivocally stated that no entity or organization possessed the authority to detain Pervez Elahi. Nonetheless, in defiance of the court’s decree, the Islamabad police apprehended him immediately after he exited the courthouse. As a result, Pervez Elahi was taken into custody.
The Lahore High Court expressed its indignation regarding the arrest of Pervez Elahi, notwithstanding the court’s explicit orders. The court instructed Sessions Judge Attock to locate and produce Pervez Elahi before the court. Additionally, the court issued a notice of contempt of court to IG Islamabad.
Curiously, the composition of the Lahore High Court bench responsible for ordering Parvez Elahi’s recovery has undergone a change.
