Pakistan’s Parliament is scheduled to be dissolved today (Wednesday), a mere three days before the culmination of its five-year parliamentary tenure.
Pakistan’s Parliament Completed 5 Years Tenure Today
The final session of the joint sitting of the parliament is slated for 5:30 pm today. A two-point agenda has been outlined for this joint session, encompassing the customary recitation of the Quran, Naat-e-Rasool, and the national anthem.
During the meeting, prevailing national concerns such as Law and Order, Economic policy, Kashmir, and foreign policy will be deliberated upon. The agenda also encompasses discussions on the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and increasing awareness about climate change, aiming to attain a consensus.
Prime Minister Shahbaz Shareef is anticipated to deliver a farewell address to the joint session, as he has announced his intention to submit a summary to the president on Wednesday (today) for the dissolution of the National Assembly.

On Tuesday, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif confirmed his intention to send a letter to President Dr. Arif Alvi on Wednesday (August 9) to formally request the dissolution of the National Assembly (NA).
“After fulfilling our term, I will draft and forward the advice to President Alvi for assembly dissolution, paving the way for an interim government to assume responsibility,” stated the prime minister during an address at a ceremony in Islamabad.
