Commemorative Coin Release
KARACHI – To commemorate the 10th anniversary of the China Pakistan Economic Corridor, Pakistan’s Government will issue a Commemorative Coin Release of Rs.100.
Commemorative Coin Release-The China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) has significantly contributed to Pakistan’s infrastructure and economic growth since its inception in 2013.
The coin will be released through SBP Banking Services Corporation’s exchange counters starting from August 11, 2023. The coin has a circular shape with serrations on the edge, a diameter of 30.00 mm, weighs 13.5 grams, and consists of Cupro-Nickel metal (75% Copper & 25% Nickel).
In the center of the coin’s front side, there’s an artistically crafted five-pointed star. Inside this star, there are representations of a crescent moon and star (as seen on Pakistan’s national flag) on the left and a Group of Five Stars (as seen on China’s national flag) on the right.
The inscriptions “CELEBRATING 10 YEARS OF CPEC” in English and “ISLAMI JAMHURIA PAKISTAN” in Urdu adorn the top and bottom parts of the star, respectively. These inscriptions are separated by two stars on each side.
The face value of the coin, represented by the bold numeral “100″ and in Urdu script “Rupiya,” is written on the left and right sides of the star, respectively.
On the reverse side of the coin, there’s another artistically designed five-pointed star in the center. Within this star, you can find depictions of a crescent moon and star (as seen on Pakistan’s national flag) on the left side and a Group of Five Stars (as seen on China’s national flag) on the right side.
At the top of the star, along the periphery, the words “CHINA PAKISTAN ECONOMIC CORRIDOR” appear in both English and Chinese scripts. At the bottom of the star’s periphery, the inscriptions “PAKISTAN CHEEN EQTESADI RAHDARI” in Urdu and “FROM VISION TO REALITY” in English are written. These upper and lower inscriptions are separated by two stars on each side of the coin.

The years “2013” and “2023” are written in numerals on the left and right centers of the coin, representing the decade of CPEC’s high-quality development.
