The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has limited the number of installments in electricity bills due to which the relief given to common consumers for paying electricity bills in installments has ended.
NEPRA Sets Limits on Electricity Bill Installments:
According to the documents, consumers have lost the relief of installment payment of electricity bills, and consumers will now be able to pay installments only once a year, Nepra has amended the consumer service manual and orders have been issued to the companies.
According to the instructions of Nepra, a new computerized bill should be issued in case of installments, not extend the fixed date in case of a holiday on the last day, late payment surcharge has been charged for non-payment of the bill due to an official holiday.

The documents state that a 14 percent late payment surcharge will be levied if the installment is not paid on the due date
On the other hand, the electricity bomb was dropped on the public once again, and the cost of electricity was increased by 3 rupees 28 paise per unit. The increase in electricity prices has been done through quarterly adjustments, which will be charged in June, July, and August bills.

The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has decided to increase electricity prices. The increase in electricity prices will result in an additional burden of 46 billion rupees on the consumers.
Sources say that Nepra sent the decision to increase electricity prices to the federal government. Nepra had on May 30 reserved its decision on the CPPA’s request to increase the price of electricity by Rs 3.49 paise per unit, after the Central Power Purchasing Agency (CPPA) requested an increase in the April fuel adjustment.
