On Friday, the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) officially instructed K-Electric to impose an extra charge of Rs. 1.44 per unit on its customers in the billing cycle of the present month.
The determination made by the governing body concerned the monthly alterations in fuel charges for K-Electric Limited during May 2023. As per an official announcement from the energy regulator, K-Electric will incorporate the adjustments in fuel charges pertaining to May 2023 within the billing cycle of July 2023.
The increase will apply to every customer group except for lifeline users. Additionally, it will be displayed as a separate item on consumers’ bills, based on the units billed to them during the relevant month of adjustment.
