Nepal has officially banned TikTok
The Nepali Cabinet opted for the prohibition of Tik Tok.
Rekha Sharma, Nepal’s Information Technology Minister, explained that the choice was made in response to Tik Tok’s detrimental impact on Nepal’s ‘social harmony.’
She mentioned that the widely used video-sharing platform was experiencing ‘misuse,’ prompting calls from different sectors for its prohibition.
He mentioned that the prohibition will soon take effect, but he has not disclosed a specific date.
Chief of the Nepali Telecommunications Authority, Prashotham Kunal, stated that providers of online services will be instructed to cease the application.

TikTok has not provided any feedback on this matter thus far.
Meanwhile, dissenting leaders in Nepal have condemned the government’s choice.
He expressed that numerous objectionable elements exist in various other social media applications too; rather than enforcing bans, we ought to subject them to legal regulations.
It’s important to highlight that TikTok has faced complete or partial prohibitions in several countries, citing diverse justifications.
