LONDON: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Nawaz Sharif intends to come back to Pakistan on October 15 this year according to insiders, reliable sources informed Geo News on Friday.
Nawaz Sharif Expected Arrival in Pakistan on October 15
As per the sources, the chosen date was deliberated among Nawaz, Shehbaz Sharif, and immediate family members in London, determining that the PML-N chief will make his way back to Pakistan in mid-October.
Earlier, Geo News communicated that Nawaz was set to return to Pakistan by mid-September. Nonetheless, there has been a shift in the strategy in recent days after the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) declared that elections cannot be held within 90 days.
The insiders indicated that Nawaz’s comeback has been postponed until the middle of October. This delay isn’t due to the ECP declaration but due to the counsel of devoted party members who find September excessively warm and harsh for large political assemblies.
Consequently, mid-October emerges as a more suitable period for his return.
The determination to come back around the middle of October was reached following two gatherings between Shehbaz and the PML-N leader in London. Shehbaz reached London the previous Sunday after transferring authority to Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar.
“The focus is on the severity of the climate while determining Nawaz Sharif’s return date. There’s potential for further alteration, but presently, the 15th of October is confirmed as the date, with additional deliberations set to occur around it,” the dependable source revealed.
The Sharif family legal representatives and political assistants had suggested the PML-N leader to return to Pakistan immediately following his European and Middle Eastern trip, which commenced three months back and concluded three weeks ago as Nawaz arrived in London.
Nevertheless, a portion of those within the PML-N have counseled Nawaz that it’s more prudent to reach Pakistan post mid-September — once the present Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP), Umar Atta Bandial, steps down.
For Nawaz, the entire PML-N, the Sharif family, and the lawyers’ counsel remains that he ought to await the retirement of CJP Bandial, who is charged by the party of displaying bias toward the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) and making extra efforts to assist Imran Khan.

Nawaz roared a couple of days back, directing his anger towards the present Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) as well as former judges who played a pivotal role in dethroning him from power back in 2017.
The head of PML-N leveled allegations against the higher judiciary of relentlessly pursuing him out of vindictiveness. However, he emphasized that the same judiciary went to great lengths to assist the PTI chairman and former Prime Minister, Khan, in his legal battles.
He expressed his dissatisfaction following CJP Bandial’s request for the Islamabad High Court to handle Khan’s Toshakhana disqualification and conviction case. Additionally, he suggested that the PTI leader had been unjustly convicted and hadn’t been granted sufficient time to mount a defense.
Nawaz criticized the “prejudiced” magistrates, specifically mentioning former CJP Saqib Nisar, justice (retired) Asif Saeed Khosa, as well as incumbent apex court judge Ijazul Ahsan, along with others. He accused them of mistreating him and relentlessly pursuing him in the guise of justice.
Nawaz remarked, “There existed a period during which CJP Saqib Nisar, Asif Saeed Khosa, Ijazul Ahsan, Sheikh Azmat Saeed, and an additional judge were fixated on imprisoning me, disqualifying me, and terminating my government by any means necessary. They spared no effort against us, and now witnesses are coming forth to unveil their actions. These revelations are emerging from within the institutions.”
Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui hails from within the judicial system, being a former senior judge. He provided a witness statement. What further evidence is necessary?

Responding to interventions by CJP Bandial and Justice Mazahir Ali Naqvi in Khan’s case, he expressed that the PTI leader has been ensnared in embezzlement of substantial sums and is implicated in graft lawsuits spanning from Toshakhana to Al Qadir Trust for large-scale embezzlement. However, the chief justice appears to be shielding him.
Nawaz added: “The previous chief justice (Saqib Nisar) was strongly inclined towards cornering me, whereas today’s CJP is resolute in safeguarding Imran Khan.
“Bandial understands that Imran Khan has caused detriment to the nation, the economy, the cultural heritage, and has obliterated established practices. He has eroded the ethical foundation of the nation, promoted a culture of lawlessness, and repeatedly violated Pakistan’s constitution.”
“It’s widely acknowledged how he handled the opposition during his time in authority and even while he was in the opposing camp. He engaged in nothing but sit-ins and protests, but despite all of those actions, we toiled and delivered.”
Nawaz expressed that the Chief Justice of Pakistan is jeopardizing his career for “this individual.”
He further stated: “I feel let down that despite the well-known facts about Khan’s detrimental impact on Pakistan, he is supporting this. It’s common knowledge that General Bajwa played a role in bringing Imran Khan to power. It was General Faiz who facilitated his rise. They endorsed him.”
Nawaz highlighted that it was Nisar who openly stated that Nawaz and his daughter Maryam must be imprisoned at any expense to manipulate the 2018 elections.
“Saqib Nisar openly declared that we (the judiciary) must facilitate Imran Khan’s ascent to power because it was the decision of General Bajwa and General Faiz.”
Nawaz arrived in London on the 19th of November, 2019, at which point he became seriously unwell while in jail.
The family claimed that the government under Khan’s leadership and his supporters had attempted to poison Nawaz. He received medical care at both the Harley Street Clinic and London Bridge Hospital for a duration of four months.
Having been previously diagnosed with an immune system ailment, the former prime minister was advised by Pakistani physicians to seek medical treatment abroad due to his condition progressively worsening despite the utmost attention within the nation.
