In the merged tribal district of North Waziristan, for the first time, a woman candidate, Abida Wazir, is contesting the general elections.
Elections in North Waziristan
Abida Wazir is an independent candidate from National Assembly Constituency NA-40 North Waziristan. Abida Wazir is a mother of 5 children, housewife with FA pass who is contesting as an independent candidate.
Her elder daughter and a son are medical students while her husband Nasr Manullah is a doctor and child specialist.
He said that he is well aware of the problems faced by women in the region and focus on contemporary and religious studies of girls is a part of his election manifesto.
Abida also intends to make legislation for women’s rights in the assembly after being elected as a minister.
He said that there is no shortage of anything in North Waziristan, there are paradise areas like Razmak and Shawwal, but there are nominal hospitals where patients face difficulties in treatment.
Abida plans to get elected and build a hospital in the area.
Regarding the in-laws, the independent candidate said that the family and in-laws are running my election campaign and asking people to vote for me.

Abida Wazir says that most of the women and men in Waziristan’s Gudiyum Tehsil, Razmak, Sheratala area and native village Aspalgah want to see me successful in the elections.
It should be noted that women candidates are also participating in the general elections from many districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
