The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has disclosed that monsoon currents originating from the Arabian Sea persistently infiltrate the nation, alongside a westerly wave which exists in the upper and central regions of the country.

Under the influence of this weather system, there is a forecast of rain and wind-thundershowers (with scattered heavy falls) in the following areas: Kashmir (Neelum valley, Muzaffarabad, Poonch, Hattian, Bagh, Haveli, Sudhanoti, Kotli, Bhimber, Mirpur), Gilgit Baltistan (Diamir, Astore, Ghizer, Skardu, Hunza, Gilgit, Ghanche, Shigar), Chitral, Dir, Swat, Shangla, Buner, Mansehra, Kohistan, Abbottabad, Haripur, Peshawar, Mardan, Swabi, Nowshera, Kurram, Lakki Marwat, Kohat, Dera Ismail Khan, Bannu, Karak, Waziristan, Murree, Galliyat, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Mandi Bahauddin, Sialkot, Narowal, Lahore, Sheikhupura, Hafizabad, Gujranwala, Gujrat, Kasur, Mianwali, Sargodha, Khushab, Faisalabad, Toba Tek Singh, Jhang, Bhakkar, Sahiwal, Bahawalnagar, and Okara from 27th (night) to 30th July with occasional gaps.

Rain and wind-thundershower (with a few heavy falls) are expected in Kalat, Khuzdar, Lasbella, Awaran, Kech, Gwadar, Panjgur, Mastung, Sibbi, Naseerabad, Zhob, Sherani, Barkhan, Musakhel, Kohlu, Jhal Magsi, Loralai, Dera Ghazi Khan, Rajanpur, Multan, Khanewal, Layyah, Kot Addu, Bahawalpur, and Rahim Yar Khan on 27th (night) & 28th July.
Severe downpours could result in rapid flooding in Balochistan and mountainous streams of Dera Ghazi Khan on the night of 27th and 28th July. Meanwhile, in Kashmir, Dir, Swat, Kohistan, Shangla, Buner, Manshera, Abbottabad, and Rawalpindi/Islamabad, including Lai Nullah, expect heavy rainfall from the night of 27th to 29th July.
Severe downpours could result in urban flooding in the lower regions of Islamabad/Rawalpindi, Peshawar, Gujranwala, Lahore, and Faisalabad starting from the evening of 27th July until 29th July.

Moreover, these heavy rains may also lead to landslides in susceptible zones like Murree, Galliyat, Kashmir, Gilgit Baltistan, and the hilly areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during this period.
Farmers should consider the weather forecast while managing their activities. Tourists and travelers are recommended to exercise additional vigilance to prevent any unfavorable circumstances during the wet spell.
A Wind-thunderstorm could harm unsecured objects such as electric poles, solar panels, etc. It is recommended that the public seek safe shelter during the wind-storm, lightning, or heavy rains.
