The Rawalpindi Election Tribunal NA 89 Mianwali, which oversees election affairs, rejected the appeal of the former chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI). The Tribunal upheld the Returning Officer’s decision disqualifying former PTI Chairman Imran Khan from contesting the election.
Mianwali constituency disqualifies Imran Khan:
After the rejection of Imran Khan’s candidature from NA-122 by Lahore Two Reunion, he has now been declared a candidate from his native constituency as well.
This decision has come after consideration of the nomination papers submitted by Imran Khan on January 7. His lawyer, Barrister Ali Zafar, submitted arguments in an attempt to overturn the tribunal’s decision, but the appeal was ultimately dismissed.

The preliminary decision of the Returning Officer, due to which the former Chairman was disqualified from contesting the forthcoming elections. Details of the disqualification were not immediately disclosed.
