Heavy Rain Hits Lahore
Lahore experienced the impact of the ongoing monsoon period, affecting numerous cities in Punjab, including the provincial capital.
The spell arrived on Saturday, providing relief from the hot and humid weather as the temperature dropped.

As the present phase of monsoon arrives, various sections of the metropolis experienced copious downpours accompanied by thunder since early morning, inundating several low-lying regions.
Based on media reports, there was substantial rainfall in Gulshan Ravi, Samnabad, Mall Road, Wahdat Colony, Joray Pul, and Ferozepur Road.
However, comparatively lesser rainfall was observed in areas such as Mughalpura, Canal Road, Nishtar Town, Harbanspura, Gulberg, Defence, Qaddafi Stadium, Model Town, Kot Lakhpat, Faisal Town, and Johar Town.
After the substantial rainfall, over 95 LESCO feeders malfunctioned, leading to a power outage in the city as the electricity supply stayed suspended.

LESCO authorities warned the public to avoid electricity poles and high-tension power lines.
The Met Office issued a warning regarding substantial rainfall, which could lead to flash flooding in the nearby nullahs of Dera Ghazi Khan, as well as in northeast and south Balochistan regions, including Zhob, Barkhan, Kohlu, Sibbi, Naseerabad, Musa Khel, Sherani, Harnai, Bolan, Loralai, Khuzdar, Lasbella, Kech, Turbat, Panjgur, Awaran, and surrounding areas.
The latest advisory warns that heavy rainfall might result in urban flooding in low-lying regions and rapid flooding in Lahore, Islamabad/Rawalpindi, Peshawar, Charsadda, Mardan, Nowshera, Abbottabad, Mansehra, Gujranwala, Gujrat, Narowal, Sialkot, Lahore, Kasur, and Faisalabad on July 29th. Moreover, there’s a possibility of triggering landslides in vulnerable areas such as Murree, Galliyat, Kashmir, Gilgit Baltistan, and the hilly regions of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during this period.
The Monsoon winds from the Arabian Sea are infiltrating into the higher regions of the nation.
Additionally, an atmospheric disturbance from the west is currently prevailing over the upper and central portions of the country, as per the latest update.
