The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority issued a notice concerning the hike in gas rates. The updated gas rates will take effect starting November 1.
Gas Price Surge Alert
As per the notice, gas rates surged by over 172% for non-protected residential users. The cost of 25 cubic meters of gas per month rose from Rs.200 to Rs.300 per MMBTU. The cost of 60 cubic meters of gas per month increased from Rs.300 to Rs.600 per MMBTU.
The cost of 100 cubic meters of gas per month climbed from Rs 400 to Rs 1000 per MMBTU, while the cost of 150 cubic meters of gas per month went up from Rs 600 to Rs 1200 per MMBTU.

The cost of 200 cubic meters of gas per month has risen from Rs.800 to Rs.1600 per MMBTU. The cost of 300 cubic meters of gas per month has surged from Rs 1100 to Rs 3000 per MMBTU. The range of 3100 to 4000 rupees per MMBTU has been established.
