Flood in Sutlej River
KASUR – Due to a severe flood in the Sutlej River, approximately 20 villages were submerged and isolated from neighboring areas.
According to media reports, it is indicated that Satluj, the lengthiest among the five rivers in Punjab, is experiencing a severe flood situation. Officials have cautioned about an anticipated rise in the water level within the Kasur district.
The rescue endeavors by local officials intensified in order to safeguard both human beings and livestock, while the deluge persists in inundating an increasing expanse of terrain.
Previously, the nation’s primary disaster management agency cautioned about moderate to severe inundations in the Sutlej River. Presently, localities in Kasur and Okara are submerged while the government asserts its utmost dedication to preventing any adverse occurrence.

In the meantime, the water level is steadily rising at Sulemanki Headworks, situated near Okara, while the deluge persists, impacting the communities residing along the river. This calamity is causing extensive damage to the standing crops, compelling the local population to relocate.

The PMD’s most recent prediction anticipated additional rainfall starting on Thursday, along with a cautionary message that the Satluj river could experience significant flooding within the next 24 to 28 hours following a new bout of precipitation.

The latest atmospheric conditions will impact the nation until the 17th, as monsoon flows originating from the Arabian Sea are anticipated to infiltrate the northern and central regions of the country. The heavy rains are predicted to result in urban inundation in low-lying districts of additional cities such as Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Peshawar, Gujranwala, and Lahore.
