For the initial time ever in the country’s past, fake rain was released in various parts of Lahore.
First-ever artificial rain in Lahore
The Caretaker Chief Minister of Punjab, Mohsin Naqvi, mentioned in a media briefing that this strategy was implemented within a range of 10 to 15 kilometers in Lahore, and gentle rain occurred in 10 locations.
He stated that the primary cloud seeding operation happened a while back. Clouds were directed towards Shahdara and Muridke, leading to rainfall in numerous Lahore spots. A total of 48 flares were launched during the artificial rain process.
Mohsin Naqvi mentioned that the UAE backs creating artificial rain. We didn’t allocate extra funds for it; only water was used. Artificial rain is not harmful to health. If it were, countries like Dubai and America wouldn’t practice it.

He added that the test for making rain artificially was very important for us, and we will know the results by tonight. Today, Lahore experienced artificial rain. This experiment is new. We will decide what to do next after closely watching its effects. Soon, we will also put-up towers to fight smog in the city.
The temporary chief minister mentioned that two planes from the UAE government were used for artificial rain, and we made it rain quietly because we didn’t want any problems.
The second plane for artificial rain will come later. The federal government is actively involved in the project. The Prime Minister of Pakistan played a crucial role and congratulated the artificial rain.
