The ICC said that the pitches used in the Cricket World Cup final and the second semi-finals in India were just okay.
India and Australia played in the final of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup on November 19 at the Narendra Modi Stadium, and Australia won. The second semi-final between Australia and South Africa took place on November 16 in Kolkata, and Australia won that match too.
Cricket World Cup pitches rated average
As per reports from Indian media, the pitch in the final match was called average by match referee Andy Pycroft. The pitch in the semi-final was also termed average by former Indian fast bowler and match referee Javagal Srinath.
A previously used cricket pitch was employed for the last game between Australia and India. Reports suggest that Australia raised concerns, stating that this pitch had also been used in the match between Pakistan and India on October 14.
