Methane-Fueled Space Rocket
On Wednesday, a Chinese company successfully launched the world’s first Methane-Fueled Space Rocket into orbit, surpassing competition from the United States in developing the next generation of space launch vehicles.
The rocket, named Zhuque-2, took off at 9 am (0100 GMT) from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in northwest China and completed its flight as planned, as reported by state media.

This mission signified the second endeavor undertaken by LandSpace, a company situated in Beijing and active in China’s commercial launch sector, to initiate the Zhuque-2. Their primary endeavor in December proved to be without success.
With the successful launch of the Zhuque-2, China has surged ahead of its competitors from the United States, such as Elon Musk’s SpaceX and Jeff Bezos’ Blue Origin, in the race to innovate carrier vehicles fueled by methane. Methane-Fueled Space Rocket is acknowledged as a cleaner, safer, and more cost-effective propellant alternative for rockets designed for reuse.
