Earthquake Hits Islamabad
ISLAMABAD: The federal capital Islamabad and its surrounding areas experienced a magnitude 5.2 earthquake on Thursday, as reported by the National Seismic Monitoring Centre (NSMC).
According to the NSMC, the earthquake had a depth of 170 kilometers, and its epicenter was determined to be located on the Afghanistan-Tajikistan border.
People came out of their houses in fear, reciting the Kalma-e-Tayyaba (Islamic declaration of faith). According to initial reports, no losses have been reported.

Earlier, a magnitude 6 earthquake shook the twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi, as well as adjoining areas and several districts of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
Local residents, overwhelmed by fear and panic, hurriedly evacuated their homes and sought refuge in open spaces during the early hours of Sunday morning following the strong earthquake that shook the area.
The tremors of the earthquake were also felt in Swat, Peshawar, Buner, Upper Dir, Swabi, Mardan, Kohat districts, and nearby areas in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

According to the National Seismic Monitoring Centre in Islamabad, tremors were also felt in Lower Dir, Buner, Mohmand, and Charsadda districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
