KARACHI: Mayor Karachi, Barrister Murtaza Wahab, emphasized the transformation of the metropolis into a “clean and green” city through the diligent enforcement of laws, including the eradication of Banning Wall Chalking and the prohibition of plastic bags.
In a meeting with departmental heads at the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) head office on Tuesday, Mayor Wahab expressed his commitment to ensuring strict implementation of these measures to realize the vision of a pristine and environmentally conscious city.
During the gathering, Mayor Murtaza Wahab announced the introduction of a streamlined “one-window” operation to enhance the provision of services and facilitate the public with various amenities.
Deputy Mayor Salman Abdullah Murad, seizing the opportunity, conveyed his gratitude to the citizens of Karachi for their unwavering trust in the new leadership of the city.
He underscored the urgent need to stabilize the financial situation of the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) while addressing the pressing challenge of clearing and maintaining drainage systems during the monsoon season.
