AMD Unveils Radeon RX 7700 XT
AMD Unveils Radeon RX 7700 XT -The new RX 7700 XT and 7800 XT graphics cards from AMD are now available, bringing us much closer to advanced 2K gaming at the $400 price point. These GPUs start at $459 and are prepared to rival Nvidia’s RTX 4060 Ti and RTX 4070. These cards showcase the ability to uphold an average frame rate surpassing 60fps in modern games, even at 1440p resolution. They achieve this while running at maximum settings and without requiring any complex upscaling methods, at least as per AMD’s claims.
This performance assessment remains valid even for demanding PC ports such as The Last of Us Part I and Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, a truly impressive feat. Moreover, the company states that both graphics cards achieve an average of over 100fps in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II.
AMD Unveils Radeon RX 7700 XT -Please note that these graphics cards maintain a significant size, with AMD’s reference design for the Radeon RX 7800 XT occupying 2.5 expansion slots in a desktop system. This differs from Nvidia’s two-slot configuration for the RTX 4070 Founders Edition and lower models. Moreover, these GPUs require more power, up to 265W, compared to the GeForce series’ 200W consumption. Interestingly, the use of two eight-pin PCI-E power connectors remains, which might be favored by specific users.
Nvidia GPUs have faced unnecessary memory limitations, but AMD might surpass them this time. For example, the RX 7700 XT has 12 GB of GDDR6 memory with a 192-bit interface, resulting in a bandwidth of 432 GB per second. On the other hand, the RX 7800 XT includes 16 GB of memory, a 256-bit interface, and achieves a total bandwidth of 624 GB per second.
In addition to the graphics cards, AMD plans to unveil FSR 3 on September 6th. This new version of their upscaling technology improves frame generation and enables Native Anti-Aliasing.
FSR3 is compatible with various graphics cards, including Radeon 5000, 6000, and 7000 series. For the best results, AMD recommends using the technology on 6000 and 7000 series cards. FSR3 will also expand to Nvidia cards, supporting the 20-series, 30-series, and 40-series cards.

However, remember that FSR 3 requires developers to integrate it into their games. Currently, FSR 3 is expected to be available in Cyberpunk 2077, Forspoken, Immortals of Aveum, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2, Frostpunk 2, Squad, Starship Troopers: Extermination, Black Myth: Wukong, Crimson Desert, and Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth.
Interestingly, Starfield will receive FSR 2 instead of FSR 3, even though a free game copy comes with the GPU.
