Evidence Indicates Imran Khan’s Role in UN
LONDON: Imran Khan, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman and former prime minister, directed British solicitor Rashad Yaqoob to pursue legal action through the United Nations (UN) and global courts for his cases, a private News investigation revealed on Tuesday.
Evidence Indicates Imran Khan’s Role in UN-Yaqoob was also tasked with urging the UN and international bodies to intercede on his behalf at the worldwide and local levels concerning the incidents following the violent militant attacks on Pakistan Army installations throughout the nation on May 9, as evidenced.
The directions to engage with the UN and secure funds for the legal efforts were discreetly communicated to Rashad Yaqoob, CEO of the Human Rights Legal Aid Foundation (HRLAF).
Evidence Indicates Imran Khan’s Role in UN-His mandate was to engage leading English lawyers in order to present Imran Khan’s cases before the UN Human Rights Council, the UN, the UN Special Rapporteur on Human Rights, and other global forums, according to the provided evidence.
The instructions also encompassed highlighting the arrests of numerous influential PTI leaders linked to the May 9 attacks, including Khadijah Shah, Dr Yasmin Rashid, and Sanam Javed, among others.
Investigations by Private News have verified that HRLAF has been legitimately assisting a substantial number of clients, starting with Imran Khan. Several petitions have already been filed with the United Nations, the Parliamentary Union, and other quasi-judicial bodies.
In line with the directives, notable human rights attorneys such as Michael Mansfield, KC, Gareth Pierce, and Ben Emerson, KC, were enlisted to represent Imran Khan and other individuals in relation to alleged abuses by Pakistani institutions, including secret agencies. It is understood that the UK legal team is also exploring potential actions under universal jurisdiction.
Over the weekend, PTI leaders, including those in the UK like Sher Afzal Marwat, Zulfi Bukhari, Naeem Panjhota, criticized Rashad Yaqoob for initiating legal proceedings and launching a fundraising campaign for Imran Khan, as well as for taking his case to the UN via British lawyers.
However, our inquiry affirms that Rashad Yaqoob, CEO of HRLAF, possessed full authorization through a Letter of Instruction (LOI) on behalf of Imran Khan and other prominent leaders in Pakistan. Yaqoob diligently adhered to the pertinent legal protocols mandated for solicitors operating in the UK.

At least three male and two female PTI leaders from Pakistan, all closely associated with Imran Khan and representing him, communicated the instructions. Although they all acknowledged their involvement, they requested confidentiality due to potential threats to their lives if their identities were exposed.
