India Releases Ravi Water
NDMA tweeted this update, emphasizing India’s recent water discharge and the possibility of minimal flooding in floodplain regions, taking into account the flood thresholds of the River Ravi at Jassar.
Notwithstanding the danger, NDMA guaranteed that the nearby authorities are diligently observing the circumstance until 20th July, adhering to their directives.
Arrangements have been put in place to manage all unfavorable circumstances. Escalated water levels in the Ravi river triggered flood alerts in Hafizabad and Narowal, leading to the establishment of relief camps alongside rivers and canals.
Moreover, substantial precipitation in Lahore, Sialkot, and Narowal has the potential to cause inundation in the River Sutlej and its affiliated streams, encompassing Bhimber, Deg, Palkho, and Basantar.
In order to reduce hazards, temporary shelters were established close to Kot Ghulam as a precautionary measure against potential flooding in the Chenab river.
The region spanning from Kot Ghulam to Kot Nikka has already encountered floods, and evaluations of the incurred damages have been carried out.
