OceanGate: Owner of Titan submersible suspends exploration.OceanGate, the company that owned the Titan submersible that tragically collapsed last month, resulting in the unfortunate loss of all five passengers, has completely halted its operations.
The company issued a concise statement on its website, announcing the cessation of “all exploration and commercial activities.”
Additionally, the company’s website had previously featured enticing tours of the picturesque Azores archipelago in Portugal and the stunning Bahamas.
An ongoing investigation is currently underway to determine the cause of the implosion that occurred during the sub’s dive to the Titanic wreck on June 18th.
Led by the US Coast Guard, the authorities have initiated this inquiry with the intention of preventing similar accidents from happening in the future.
Chief investigator Cpt Jason Neubauer stated last month that the Coast Guard had launched their most extensive investigation effort and would collaborate with Canadian, UK, and French authorities. Cpt Neubauer mentioned that the investigation might result in recommendations for civil or criminal charges.

OceanGate’s CEO, Stockton Rush, aged 61, tragically passed away aboard the Titan, along with four other passengers: British-Pakistani businessman Shahzada Dawood, 48, and his son Suleman, 19, British businessman Hamish Harding, 58, and Paul-Henry Nargeolet, 77, a former diver in the French navy.
Rush was known for his ambitious spirit as an explorer and his unwavering leadership, sometimes venturing beyond conventional boundaries to pursue his dream of exploring the depths of the sea.
While he had participated in several successful dives aboard the Titan, there were reports suggesting that he had disregarded safety warnings regarding his submersible.
