In a touching display of camaraderie, New Zealand batsman Colin Munro brought joy to a ball boy during a Pakistan Super League (PSL) match when he imparted his catching expertise.
Colin Munro’s Celebration
Munro, part of Islamabad United in PSL’s ninth season, faced off against Peshawar Zalmi in the 20th match at the Pindi Cricket Stadium. While fielding, a ball boy missed a catch beyond the boundary, prompting Munro to offer a supportive side hug along with some coaching tips.
Later in the game, the ball boy seized another opportunity and successfully caught the ball. Munro, in a spontaneous gesture, celebrated the achievement by lifting the young boy.
The video capturing this heartening moment has gained viral status, with the cricketing community lauding it as one of the most compassionate incidents on the cricket field.
Social media enthusiasts and cricket aficionados shared the video, garnering millions of views.
“Can’t stop watching this man,” expressed a Facebook user.
“A moment to cherish, what a player, and look at his celebration with the boy who secured the catch after the initial miss. Both are jubilant for each other—one teaching, the other learning—a moment,” commented another.
