The Punjab Health Department has revealed that the ages of the dead children range from 2 months to 12 years.

Pneumonia appears as a serious infection causing inflammation of the lung sacs. Symptoms include chills with phlegm or pus, fever, cough, and difficulty breathing, with serious consequences.
The health department reported two deaths related to pneumonia in Lahore, adding that 230 more children were diagnosed with pneumonia in the city during the past 24 hours. At that time, a total of 491 cases of pneumonia were recorded across Punjab.

Statistics show that the total number of deaths of children due to pneumonia in Punjab this year has reached 194, 45 children died in Lahore alone.
Due to the increase in pneumonia cases, there has been an acute shortage of essential medicines in Lahore. This shortage particularly affects treating children with pneumonia, chest infections, and other viral illnesses. The situation calls for urgent attention and resources to mitigate the impact on young lives in the region.
