Punjab CM predicts Lahore school vacation
On Saturday, the caretaker Chief Minister, Mohsin Naqvi, talked about various problems, including closing schools. He admitted that Lahore, the main city in the province, has a big smog problem and is one of the most polluted cities globally.
Giving an update on closing schools early, the Chief Minister mentioned that schools can’t be closed before December 18 because exams are happening in various educational institutions.
He said that steps are being taken at the management level to deal with the problem. He linked the increase in smog to things like dust and traffic.

As the situation got worse in the area, the Punjab government declared a Saturday holiday in schools until the end of January. However, schools and colleges stayed open on Wednesday and Friday, unlike previous weeks.
Even with the government’s actions, Lahore stayed the most polluted city globally, with an air quality index (AQI) level of 233.
Levels between 150-200 specifically impact people with asthma, lung problems, and heart issues. An AQI rating of 0-50 is seen as good.
