The election for the presidency of Pakistan Muslim League-N is being held today, 10 candidates including party leader Nawaz Sharif have come forward for the party presidency.

According to the League sources, a meeting of the General Council of Muslim League-N has been called on Tuesday (today) for the election of the party president. The election commission of the PML-N will be headed by Rana Sanaullah while Iqbal Zafar Jhagra, Ishrat Ashraf, Jamal Shah Kakar, and Khel Das Kohistani are among the members of the election commission.
Scrutiny of nomination papers for the election of the party president will be held on May 28 from 1 to 2 pm, while the PML-N Central General Council will elect the new president at 4 pm.

Nomination papers have been submitted by 10 candidates against Nawaz Sharif. Bashir Memon, Irfan Siddiqui, Ishaq Dar, Raja Muhammad Farooq, Hafiz Hafeezur Rehman, Shah, and Ghulam Qadir are among those who have received papers.
In this regard, the Chief Election Commissioner of Party Elections Rana Sanaullah said in a press conference that after Quaid-e-Azam, Nawaz Sharif made Muslim League the most popular party.

Rana Sanaullah said that he said that Nawaz Sharif is not angry with anyone, but is playing a dynamic role. PML-N refers to Nawaz Sharif, so it is not surprising that the party has completely agreed on the name of Nawaz Sharif.
He further said that Shahid Khaqan Abbasi can also submit presidential papers. After Nawaz Sharif, if the party agrees on any figure, it is Shehbaz Sharif.
